Second Time in LA. Pure Impressions,yes but not that much like the first visit. To be stressed about all the gambling sounds and crazy people will be faster, by visiting vegas the second time. Again i’ve been there for work, again for NAB. Since the exhibition is from 9-6, we’ve had only the nights to have some fun. Apart from the normal walking on the strip, we’ve been on the Eiffel Tower clone and on top of the Stratosphere . The Eiffel Tower clone gives you a nice view over the stript, although it’s splittet into a north and south view. At the Stratosphere we’ve had a fantatic view over Las Vegas and enjoyed a (very pricy) dinner there too.
That’s it. 1 Week isn’t that much, if you’ve to work at daylight, how i’ve mentioned so often, but still we got enough time to enjoy and relax vegas again.
After NAB i rented a car again and drove to Los Angeles. Thanks to the navigation system i managed the horror traffic in LA very well. First day in LA i did all the typical Hollywood stuff. I walked to the Hollywood Blvd. to visit the famous Chinese Theatre and the Kodak Theatre. The Walk of Fame will be done there automatically. After 2 hours( cause i’ve been lost on the way there), i drove on the Mulhooland Drive to the famous sign to make some pictures. After that i drove through Beverly Hills and Bel Air, to see “the rich and famous”. On Rodeo Drive you can spend your monthly income just in a few seconds, and there will be quite a lot of cars, which costs more than 100000€. The end of the day i did spent time on Venice Beach, to have a look at all the crazy people and attraction. Through Malibu i finished that day. Next day has been Showtime. I visited the Universal Studios and have been very excited. If you love show and entertainment you’ll be right there. The shows are very very awesome, in comparison what i’ve seen in europe. The third and last day i went early in the morning to the famouse Vasquez Rocks Park. He is pretty well known, cause of the terrific rocks, he has been place for many movies, f.i. Star Trek, Planet of the Apes and the Flintstones. Following the arriving sunset at Venice Beach i did enjoy the last hours in LA before my flight brought me back home to germany.

Zum zweiten Mal in Las Vegas. Überwältigend, ja aber nicht mehr so wie beim ersten Mal. Auch das “Auf die Nerven gehen” fängt dieses mal schneller an.
Wieder dienstlich, wieder auf der NAB. Standbetreung 5 Tage und am Abend etwas in Las Vegas erleben. Neben dem “normalen” auf dem Strip entlanggehen, waren wir diesmal auf der Eiffelturmkopie, sowie im Stratosphere.
Vom Eiffelturm hat man einen schönen Blick über den Strip, auch wenn er sich in zwei Hälften spaltet( da er in der Mitte steht). Im Stratosphere haben wir die fantastische Aussicht mit einem Dinner verbunden. Sehr happig was die Preise angeht, aber man macht sowas ja auch nur selten( hab ich mir dann gesagt 🙂 ).
Ansonsten verging die Woche wie im Flug, aber das ist Halt so wenn man tagsüber arbeitet.
Nach der NAB habe ich mir wieder einen Mietwagen ausgeliehen und bin nach Los Angeles gefahren. Dank des Navigationssystemes, habe ich mich auch innerhalb des Verkehrschaoses in LA gut zurechtgefunden.
Am ersten Tag war Hollywood dran. Nachdem ich parallel zum Kodak Theatre und dem Chinese Theatre( Hollywood Blvd) vorbeigelaufen war, habe ich nach über 1h von meinem Hotel aus den Walk of Fame sowie die berühmten Gebäude erreicht. Interessant einmal da zu sein, der Schein von Hollywood wird aber etwas durch die Umgebung getrübt. Sehr viele Obdachlose und auch die berühmten Gebäude gehen neben dem “normalen Leben” etwas unter.
Nach dem Hollywood Blvd. habe ich mich dem berühmten Schild gewidmet. Dem Mulholland Drive hinauf hat man einen super Blick auf das Schild. Danach ging es weiter zum Echo Park, der einen schönen Kontrast zwischen etwas Grünem und der Skyline im Hintergund bietet. Danch war Beverly Hills und BelAir dran. Mehr oder weniger nur durchfahren, hat man einen guten Einblick in das Leben der “Schönen und Reichen”. Rodeo Drive, wo man einen Monatslohn so mirnichts dirnichts loswerden kann, Villen ohne Ende, und superteuere Fahrzeuge überall. Über Malibu und Venice Beach, habe ich meine kleine Tour am diesen Tag beendet. Venice Beach lebt von schrägen Vögeln, dessen man sich in jeder Sekunde bewusst wird. Der nächste Tag war Showtime. Ich habe fast 9h in den Universal Studios verbracht. Wer Show und Entertainment mag ist hier richtig. Sehr sehr beeindruckende Shows und Achterbahnfahrtenlassen das Herz eines jeden vor Freude springen. Aufjedenfall lohnenswert. Der dritte und auch schon wieder letzte Tag habe ich mich nochmal in der Früh zum Vasquez Rocks Park aufgemacht. Der im Norden von LA gelegene Park war durch seine beeindruckenden Felsen schon Kulisse für dutzenden von Filmen, u.a. Star Trek, Planet der Affen oder auch die Flintstontes. Den angehenden Sunset am Venice Beach erlebend habe ich den Tag kurz vor meinem Flug zurück nach Deutschland ausklingen lassen.
