Andalusia and Costa Del Sol. One of the typical summer spots in europe. One hotel after the other and so tourist like. Well you know that before. We took a short trip there and at the end it was worthwhile. One of the reasons has been the close distance to Gibraltar. It doesn’t make sense by just visiting Gibraltar. It’s such a tiny place. We did have out accomodation in Torremolinos, which is close to the airport in Malaga. The beach was in front ot the hotel, so as a family it’s not that bad. Actually we do not relax on the beach everyday, cause we wanna be in the nature or just visiting interesting places in the world. So our first trip was a visit of the Laguna de Fuente de Piedra. Unfortunately there haven’t been any Flamingos, cause the lake has been dried out. We didn’t know that before. But we saw quite a lot of tortoises, which was pretty nice at the end. Our properly destination has been the castle of Alcazaba and the nature reserve “Torcal de Antequera”. The fortress is quite impressive, if you see it from a far distance, but near by… . The nature reseve has been absolutely fantastic. Nature can construct such unique things. Another spot close to Malaga are the caves of Rincón de la Victoria. Also known for hiding a treasure for centuries. All the beaches near by are not that special. They look all the same and you’ll never be the only one swimming there… . Then there was our trip to Gibraltar. A 2.5h drive and you’ll be there. At the top of the rock you’ll find the apes, or maybe the apes will find you ;-). Quite funny but watch your stuff. Around Gibraltar you’ll see military bases all over and quite a lot of container ships and platforms at the ocean. So apart from the “Rock” i would’nt go there twice. The Ibrahim-al-Ibrahim mosque in front of the hill is impressive and stands for the intercultural living of the people. While driving to or from Gibraltar you need to take care of the highways. A7 and AP-7 sound similar but the P means private and you need to pay a fare. Both ways cross each other quite often… . On another day we took a trip with the cable car to the Monte Calamorro in Benalmadena. Nice view but don’t do that in summer at noon… . Our last trip has been a visit of the Aqualand in Torremolinos. Very pricy but the kids won always… . Damn. At the end a nice week, especially for such a short planned trip.

Andalusien und die Costa Del Sol. Ein typisch touristisches Ziel. Nun ja, das stimmt. Sehr viele Hotels und eigentlich sehr verbaut. Man ist mittlerweile halt anderes gewöhnt. Doch warum lohnt es sich trotzdem dorthin zu fahren? Nun ja unser Grund war zum einen die Nähe zu Gibraltar. Einfach mal nach Gibraltar fliegen lohnt sich nicht wirklich, dafür ist diese Enklave wirklich zu klein. Aber wenn man schonmal in der Nähe ist :-). Aber fangen wir von vorne an. Torremolinos war unser 8tägiger Urlaubsort. Nicht wirklich etwas besonderes. Nun der Strand war sauber und das Hotel direkt davor. Das war für uns als Familie schon mal optimal. Ansonsten zeiht es uns sowieso immer in die Natur oder zu anderen sehenswerten Schauplätzen so das wir nicht jeden tag nur am Strand verbringen. Unser erstes Ziel war das Naturreservat Laguna de Fuente de Piedra. Leider, und das wussten wir nicht vorher, ist der See im Sommer ausgetrocknet… . Also haben wir dementsprechend auch keine Flamingos gesehen. Dafür viele Schildkröten als Entschädigung. Da unser eigentliches Ziel die Alcazaba-Festung in Antequera und das Naturschutzgebiet “Torcal de Antequera” war, war es auch nicht ganz so schlimm. Die Festung sieht ehrlich gesagt von weiten imposanter aus, als vor Ort aber die Felsformationen sind einen Besuch wert. Ist schon erstaunlich was die Natur da fabriziert. In Rincón de la Victoria kann man eine alte Schatzhöhle besuchen. Ein großes Höhlensystem mit interessanter Geschichte. Strände sind überall ähnlich. Überfüllt und alle irgendwie gleich. Da hat die Algarve “nebenan” echt mehr zu bieten. Dann war da noch unser Ausflug nach Gibraltar. Ungefähr 2.5h entfernt ist es einen Ausflug wert. Aufpassen sollte man auf die Beschilderung. Es gibt die Autobahn A-7, welche nichts kostet, und die parallel landesinnere AP-7, welche Maut kostet. Diese beiden kreuzen sich ständig und wenn man nicht aufpasst muss man zahlen… . Wir wollten unbedingt die Affen besuchen, welche so typisch für Gibraltar sind und haben dies auch gemacht. Der Ausblick vom Gipfel ist gut auch wenn rund um Gibraltar vorwiegend Containerschiffe und Industrieplattformen zu sehen sind. Eine riesige Moschee( Ibrahim-al-Ibrahim Moschee) ist auch imposant anzusehen und spiegelt das kulturelle Zusammenleben auf Gibraltar wieder. An einem anderem Tag ging es mit der Seilbahn in Benalmadena auf den Monte Calamorro. Wir waren direkt um 12Uhr oben, was man nicht unbedingt im Sommer nachahmen sollte… . Ansonsten aber super Ausblick. Unseren letzten Ausflug machten wir ins Aqualand Torremolinos. Extrem hochpreisig und für alles muss man extra zahlen! Was tud man nicht alles für seine Kinder… . Es war eine schöne Woche und für einen kurz entschlossenen Urlaub auch lohnenswert.
